DiNapoli News Flash: NY in Red
For only the second time in NY's history its bank account showed a negative balance at the end of the quarter. State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced the state ended $87 million in the red, the result of delayed payments to school districts. DiNapoli stated there is a likelihood the state may not be able to make the September school payment.
As of Tuesday, there was still no word of when the Legislature would be coming back to finish the budget. Read more.
