NAHB Board of Directors meeting soon

All resolutions and/or recommendations to be considered at the 2010 fall Board of Directors Meeting should be submitted to NAHB on or before August 26, 2010, as required by the NAHB bylaws.  The intent of this requirement is to provide directors, local HBAs and association leaders with drafts of proposed resolutions prior to the meeting to assure the fullest possible discussion of policy proposals at the grassroots level, and to encourage greater participation among directors during the policy-review process at NAHB Board meetings.

Please note: All resolutions/recommendations must be submitted by a current director on the NAHB Board of Directors and should be submitted by August 26, 2010 to the Chairman of the Board and NAHB staff.

The full resolution/recommendation should be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to Bob Jones, Chairman of the Board, through Jessica Lynch at NAHB. You can reach Jessica at jlynch@nahb.org or 800-368-5242, x8401.  Alternatively, you can send a fax to 202-266-8097. Resolutions/recommendations submitted after the August 26 deadline will still be considered at the upcoming Board meeting, but they will require a two-thirds vote (rather than a simple majority vote) for passage by the Board of Directors.

Shortly after the August 26th deadline, a short summary of all resolutions to be considered during the fall Board of Directors meeting will be posted on the NAHB website. This memorandum will briefly describe each resolution and will include the name of the original sponsor, the committees/councils to which the resolution has been referred and the name of the NAHB staff person for that particular policy. A full text of the proposed resolutions will also be posted on the NAHB website.

For more details, please visit the Fall Board Resolutions page on www.nahb.org.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jessica Lynch.
